 Jeanine Webster of Dominical WaveRider

Jeanine Webster of Dominical WaveRider

About Jeanine:

Jeanine is from exotic Brazil and after traveling the world settled in San Diego to study abroad. Her adventurous heart felt instantly in love with surfing after trying it for the first time. “When you are riding a wave, the connection you find with the ocean is like no other, I feel so much adrenaline and yet I find peace."

She moved to Costa Rica to support her husband Andrew to run the Lifeguard program for the community of Playa Dominical. Being one of the few experienced females surfers in town, Jeanine started getting requests to teach other girls to learn to surf or improve their skills. She enjoyed it so much, that she decided to get a certification to teach surfing at a higher level.

The beautiful location and the extensive background in surfing, cross-cultural experience, and love for the ocean, lead Jeanine and her husband to have the perfect combination to create Dominical Waverider Surf Camp, to introduce the exhilarating world of surfing and to give people an amazing surf experience.

About Andrew:

Living in Costa Rica never occurred to Andrew, until he was invited to move from California to serve the community of Playa Dominical as the Captain of the Dominical Lifeguards in 2008. It did not take too much time living in Dominical for Andrew to fall in love with Costa Rica, the people, the nature, the waves, and the rhythm of life we find here is just amazing.

His travels experiences to places like Africa, Mexico, Hawaii, Canada, Europe, Central America and Brazil inspired Andrew to pursuit his dream and has devoted himself to save lives, share his love for the ocean and surfing. The adventure of surfing has always been a passion for Andrew that has worked well with being a lifeguard. With smile, patience, skill, and plenty of encouragement, he provides this unique experience to everyone.

Andrew’s passion for the ocean started as a young surfer in San Diego, California. He became an Ocean Lifeguard in Encinitas, CA, in 2003, and he has EMT, W-EMT and CPR certification in the USA and Costa Rica. He proudly can say he has impacted hundreds of people lives while living in Costa Rica.

 International Yogini, Heidi Michelle

International Yogini, Heidi Michelle

About Heidi Michelle:

Heidi Michelle first stepped onto a yoga mat in 1998 and has been teaching yoga since 2008. Initially inspired by Kundalini yoga, she soon discovered Baron Baptiste and Power yoga. Heidi’s teachers include Rod Stryker, Shiva Rea and Anand Mehrotra. She studied extensively with Elysabeth Williamson, creator and founder of Principle-Based Partner Yoga™, and has been teaching Partner Yoga since 2009, most recently leading Partner Yoga Teacher Trainings. As a personal development and awareness facilitator from 1995 to 2002, Heidi’s passion for empowering people emerged. She has been guiding, teaching, and leading, in one form or another, ever since. Offering retreats, workshops and trainings in the United States, India, Mexico and Costa Rica, her yogic teachings feature a dharma-rich, gently demanding Vinyasa-flow practice with an emphasis on yoga as a practice ground for life.

I’ve been practicing yoga for over 15 years and Heidi Michelle is one of my favorite teachers. Her style speaks to and calms my busy mind, every time—as she opens class I feel myself dropping in, effortlessly. Heidi encourages by calling my attention to aspects of a pose, maybe a subtle physical adjustment, internal sensation or state of mind, that I hadn’t ventured into before. Her instruction has, on a few occasions, helped me to find new edges and triumph over my own perceived obstacles. She has a gentle and playful style that puts me at ease, so if I choose to wiggle, touch down for balance or float unexpectedly into the fullest expression of a pose I feel supported by her mindful and caring instruction. I can’t wait for my next session with Heidi!
